Functional Movement Screen College Station, TX

Functional Movement Screen

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is often used as a screening tool for either a pre-participation or readiness for return to sport. This screen identifies compensatory movement patterns that may be indicative of an increased injury risk and inefficient movement that may lend to reduced performance.

The Functional Movement Screen captures fundamental movements, motor control within movement patterns, and competence of basic movements uncomplicated by specific skills. The screen eliminates the guessing game and tells you what movement quality really is by measuring seven fundamental movements that are key to daily life:

  • Squatting
  • Lunging
  • Stepping
  • Reaching
  • Leg Raise
  • Push Up
  • Rotary Stability

Individuals are scored in a simple way to determine if their movement patterns are optimal, acceptable or dysfunctional. For more information, Contact us at College Station, TX center.
